does it work the same if i mine with gemstone gauntlet and open chests with the jasper drill? or do i have to mine with the drill for it to work

scatha has never worked on gemstone powder chests, it just had an inaccurate disciption before according to hypixel and has always only worked on mining gemstone. you are just more likely to get gemstone powder then mithril powder and im pretty sure jasper drill works on chests.

When mithril mining you can use mithril golem to get more mithril powder

Use jungle pickaxe in the jungle and open chest with jasper or mithril drill it makes much more money then goblin houldout

what about if the fuel runs out of the drills and its an 2x powder and you dont want to swap lobbies?

personaly i would grind in the precursor city because it gives a little more powder like 2 or 5 procent.
